The Power of Three: Reflections from Tercero Solution’s Third Year
Tercero means third in Spanish. After three years of building, unlearning, and reimagining, we can say with full hearts: third time really is a charm!
We didn’t get here alone. Tercero Solutions was born in community and remains held by it. Every offering, lesson, and milestone has been shaped by relationships. Nothing about our journey has been linear. And we wouldn’t want it to be. It’s year three and we love the form in which our little boutique agency is taking shape.
Rooted in Intention
The proudest moments of our journey haven’t come from spreadsheets or sales numbers. They’ve come from relationships. When someone reaches out because they heard about us through a friend, a client, or a community partner, that’s what affirms we are building something real. Something that resonates. Our work is grounded in trust, not tactics.
Tercero Solutions since inception has been guided by a non-conventional business model. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to transformational work and our clients are complex, dynamic, and mission driven. So are we!
This work is deeply personal. I once cried during a client presentation, moved by the weight of being a displaced Indigenous femme in a time when migrant peoples were being violently disappeared. But I was held. Affirmed. That moment taught me that the vulnerability we bring into spaces is a gift, not a liability. We started Tercero Solutions to serve organizations that see the world not as it is, but as it could be.
It started with a vision to channel wisdom and lived experience into spaces where mission matters more than metrics. Along the way, we've learned from traditional knowledge keepers, healers, and practitioners who have generously shaped our approach. We’re not following a playbook, we’re writing our own to rematriate the economy.
Rematriating the Economy
Rematriation as a practice is core to who we are. Rematriating the economy is our north star, where healing, love, and trust and our relationship to la tierra madre (Mother Earth) are respected economic principles. We’ve seen this show up in our hiring practices, our partnerships with BIWOC-led media studios, and our active participation in collectives like Restore Oakland and Just Be. We’re not just building a business, we’re nourishing a community. Our partnerships are rooted in shared values and mutual respect.
Empathy, collaboration, courage, and authenticity aren’t vanity values. They show up in who we choose to work with, how we show up in gatherings, and how we respond to misalignment. We’ve learned that some clients aren’t ready for the kind of work we do and that’s okay. Our energy is precious. We protect it.
The Future is Foundational
In the coming years, we plan to grow thoughtfully. That means securing values-aligned funding that strengthens our infrastructure. It means offering more support to aligned startups. And dare we say, hire full time permanent staff, benies and all! And always, always staying true to our mission.
We are in deep gratitude for all those that have supported us along the way and are laying down offerings for abundance and protection as we enter this new trip around the moon.
